CLOUD SOLUTIONS

While establishing whether cloud services are right for you, we take great care in helping you make informed decisions. We help you confirm that a given solution can meet objectives and, that you will derive value from the investment, while balancing risks.

Regardless of the type of cloud service, we understand that it’s not a matter of adopting cloud just for the sake of it. By understanding the issues at hand and being mindful of any risks, we:

  • identify the services which are good candidates for moving to cloud, considering your existing systems, network, data storage and applications;
  • consider your availability and cost criteria to decide on the most appropriate model;
  • establish that the proposed cloud model and platform meets your security compliance criteria.

We are also intimately aware that moving IT services to the cloud, can often mean changing how you operate. Therefore, our help is not only about the “nuts and bolts” – we go further to assist you in optimising your business processes to make effective use of information technology. We use roadmaps and help set priorities, all intended to ensure that the transition is seamless and effective.

Planning

Once a decision has been made to proceed with a cloud solution, we shift our attention to carefully plan the move, in order to maximise the potential and outcome. We know that our execution is important, but so is your awareness and understanding of the process we propose to undertake – nobody likes surprises!  At this point, we will help you to:

  • understand the performance criteria required for your internet connectivity going forward;
  • determine whether any existing services need to be remediated before we move to the cloud, as well as what is the reliance on third parties;
  • develop policies to comply with information privacy laws as appropriate, addressing third-party, shared infrastructure and offshore storage;
  • plan and action the procurement of cloud services or additional capacity, as well as any licenses or hardware.

In order to achieve the best outcomes, we conduct workshops with you at various appropriate stages. These help you understand possible planned outage times as well as any periods when changes to your data cannot occur for us to transition it successfully. We also utilise workshops in order to train your users in the use of the planned solution – hands on.

Management and Support

Relocating an IT service from your office to the cloud doesn’t mean that support and management for that service are no longer necessary.  The cloud service still requires our helpdesk, our management of any changes (planned or otherwise), as well as the on-going monitoring of the service and any interaction with third-party providers.

Effective use of cloud services requires an end-to-end management framework – including process, governance, security and compliance. Our managed services capabilities address these, just as we do for the network and systems located on your premises.
